June 2020 update

As Coronavirus continues to impact people and businesses across the UK and globally, we wanted to reassure you regarding our business continuity plans and the approach we are taking to minimise disruption to projects and clients.

As far as possible in the circumstances, we are operating business as usual. Shift staff are working from home, but have full access to emails, phone lines and all the usual research tools. We have been preparing for this scenario for some time and our remote working and security procedures are fully robust. We are also actively seeking new projects that might help our clients move their existing plans forward, or develop new ones in response to events.

Although many of our projects are moving forward with minimal impact, we have made some adaptations to methods where appropriate, including online rather than face-to-face focus groups. When the time to resume these is apparent, we will be closely following MRS guidance on the necessary precautions to keep respondents and researchers safe.

Our quantitative work remains largely unaffected, and we anticipate using quantitative surveys more frequently in the coming months to explore research questions that might traditionally have used qualitative questioning, such as running surveys that include some projective techniques.

We hope this update is useful. We remain committed to supporting good decision-making with strong data, which is even more crucial in these uncertain times.
